AMD's Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 Dual Edition crams 208MB of cache into a single chip

AMD's X3D lineup offers high-end desktop CPUs with an extra 64MB of L3 cache targeting games.

3D V-Cache stacks additional cache on top of or beneath the CPU die.

Some Ryzen 12- and 16-core models split cores across two chiplets/dies; the 7900X3D, 7950X3D, 9900X3D and 9950X3D had 64MB 3D V-Cache on only one of the two chiplets.

The Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 Dual Edition adds 64MB of 3D V-Cache to both dies: each die has 16MB L2 + 32MB L3 + 64MB 3D V-Cache, totaling 208MB of cache.

AMD says the new Dual Edition could be up to 10 percent faster in games and other apps that benefit from extra cache.
