Samsung’s latest health play takes aim at the Ozempic gold rush

Samsung and Massachusetts General Hospital are launching a six-month study of adults starting GLP-1RA weight-loss therapy.

The trial will compare Galaxy Watch8-supported tracking and exercise guidance with standard care.

Researchers will use smartwatch data plus DXA scans to measure body composition, activity, muscle, and heart rate.

The study aims to see whether consumer wearables can add clinically useful insight beyond scale-based weight loss results.
