New IME “Copilot Keyboard” officially released, can convert internet slang in one shot; “Kai the dolphin” makes a comeback

Microsoft Japan has released the full version of Copilot Keyboard, a Japanese IME powered by Copilot.

The app now links candidate selections to Copilot Search, updates its dictionary regularly, and keeps data stored on-device.

It also adds Kairu the dolphin as a customizable character, reviving a familiar mascot.

The update aims to unite typing and AI search while improving support for new Japanese slang and terms.
