America is about to get tougher on VPNs

Utah’s S.B. 73 now bars adult-content sites from encouraging VPNs, proxies, or similar tools to bypass age checks.

The law targets commercial websites with harmful-to-minors content and is meant to strengthen age verification.

Critics say the rule is vague, hard to enforce, and may create technical and legal problems.

The measure could set a precedent for limiting VPN use around age-gated content and affect online privacy.
