Google expands Deep Research with "Max"; supports external data integration (MCP)

Google has started public preview of Deep Research and Deep Research Max for paid tiers of the Gemini API.

The update adds MCP support, enabling external data connections, visualizations, multimodal inputs, and progress tracking.
