Anthropic Ships Claude Opus 4.8 Alongside Dynamic Workflows and Cheaper Fast Mode, With Workflows Capped at 1,000 Subagents

Anthropic launched Claude Opus 4.8 and two new Claude Code features: dynamic workflows and Fast mode.

Dynamic workflows generate JavaScript orchestration to coordinate many parallel subagents across CLI, Desktop, VS Code, API, and partner platforms.

The system supports up to 16 concurrent agents, 1,000 agents per run, and can resume interrupted jobs.

Anthropic also highlighted a large Bun-to-Rust port completed with these workflows.

Fast mode, enabled with /fast, raises token speed and now costs less for Opus 4.8; both features are research previews.
