Sony Will Soon Settle a PlayStation Store Class Action Lawsuit for $7.8 Million

A federal judge in San Francisco preliminarily approved a $7.85 million settlement in a PlayStation Store antitrust class action against Sony.

The case alleges Sony monopolized digital game sales after ending third-party game vouchers in 2019, leading to inflated prices.

More than 4.4 million eligible PSN accounts could receive PlayStation Store credit if the deal wins final approval at an October 15 fairness hearing.

The settlement follows similar scrutiny of Sony’s digital marketplace practices, including a UK class action.
