Deepseek v4 is reported to run entirely on Huawei chips and is expected to launch in the coming weeks.

Deepseek worked with Huawei and Cambricon for months to port the model to Chinese-made chips.

Alibaba, Bytedance, and Tencent ordered hundreds of thousands of Huawei Ascend 950PR units to run Deepseek v4, raising chip prices about 20%.

Huawei says the Ascend 950PR offers about 2.8 times the compute of Nvidia's H20 but still trails the H200, while US export controls limit Huawei's production.
