The Neo Geo AES is coming back, right down to real cartridge support

Plaion and SNK are reviving the Neo Geo AES+ as a premium retro console with real AES cartridge support.

The console uses custom ASIC chips to mimic the original hardware without emulation, while adding HDMI output, overclocking, and memory-card high-score saving.

It will launch on November 12, 2026 in several bundles priced from about €200 to €900, and is already available for pre-order.

The move targets retro fans who want an authentic, hardware-faithful alternative to software emulation.
