2000-MW US solar project achieves key milestone to meet high-tech power demands

Origis Energy has brought three new phases of its Rockhound Solar project online in Ector County, Texas, adding 500 MWdc.

The site now has nearly 1 GWdc of operating capacity, with full buildout expected in 2029 to exceed 2 GW of solar and battery storage combined.

The project feeds power into the ERCOT grid and includes long-term supply agreements with major customers such as Meta.

The expansion grows one of the largest clean energy projects in the U.S. and helps meet rising demand from data centers and large corporations.
