Chevrolet Performance’s eCrate is a 400V, 200hp electric crate motor kit for classic-car EV conversions.

It is designed to work with certain GM 4-speed automatic transmissions, helping preserve the existing driveline.

That could make retrofitting vintage cars to electric power simpler and less costly.

Chevy also says it is exploring a direct-drive version for even easier swaps.
