Navy tests MUSV autonomous control and payload architecture across seven prototypes

The U.S. Navy selected seven medium unmanned surface vessel designs for prototype development through its marketplace acquisition process.

The prototypes will be assessed on hull performance, propulsion, autonomy, payload integration, communications resilience, and cybersecurity.

The program is meant to speed fielding of unmanned combat ships while reducing dependence on a single contractor.

Results should help identify which designs can safely operate alongside manned carrier and expeditionary strike groups.
