NordVPN’s New HangUp App Screens Calls and Texts for Scams

NordVPN has launched HangUp, a free Android app that warns users about scam calls and suspicious texts before they answer or open them.

The app uses Hiya’s caller reputation data and NordVPN’s Message Protection to help flag fraudulent calls and messages.

Premium NordVPN subscribers already get these protections in the main app, while HangUp brings them to a standalone Android app.

With scam calls and texts causing major losses, the launch shows NordVPN expanding beyond privacy tools into consumer fraud screening.
