IRIS OHYAMA enters rice production, targeting 1,000 hectares over the long term and using drones

Iris Ohyama announced it will enter rice production by leasing farmland and starting employee-led cultivation.

The company plans to begin with 22 hectares in Marumori, Miyagi Prefecture in fiscal 2026, then scale to 200 hectares and eventually 1,000 hectares.

Harvested rice will be milled and processed in-house and sold as packaged rice meals.

The initiative aims to strengthen its food business through integrated production, processing, and sales, while using technologies such as drones.
