OpenAI added a hidden long-press gesture to ChatGPT mobile, letting users pick reply strength before sending: Instant, Thinking, or Extended.

The web app also now shows an automatic table of contents for conversations with five or more replies, making long chats easier to navigate.

GPT-5.5 Instant has been tuned to sound more natural and concise.
