Quantum Advantage? AT&T Achieves 240X Acceleration With D-Wave Quantum Computer

AT&T says D-Wave’s quantum system cut a live network optimization task from about an hour to under 15 seconds.

AT&T has expanded its agreement to use D-Wave on live network operations, including traffic routing, load balancing, outage rerouting, and resource allocation.

The result points to a practical quantum computing gain on an enterprise workload, not just a lab demo.

If repeatable, it could speed adoption of quantum tools in telecom and other optimization-heavy industries.
