JD.com plans to launch ride-hailing service in mobility push, sources say

JD.com is reportedly preparing to launch a ride-hailing service called Open Ride Service.

Pilot testing is underway in Jinan, with development said to be shared with automaker Changan.

The company may build the platform directly with carmakers instead of aggregating third-party mobility providers.

The move would push JD.com beyond e-commerce and into China’s transportation sector.
