Microsoft is using TPM chips to crack down on pirated Windows activations

Microsoft will add TPM-based verification to enterprise Windows KMS activation servers.

KMS servers will need TPM attestation to prove they are legitimate and untampered.

The change is being previewed in Windows Server 2025 and will become mandatory in the next Windows Server release.

The goal is to block spoofed activation servers and make Windows piracy harder.
