US fast-tracks B-21 Raider program, stealth bomber can strike fortified targets at long range

The Pentagon proposed an extra $6.1 billion in FY2027 to accelerate the B-21 Raider program.

The funding would speed testing and production, helping field the stealth bomber sooner.

The B-21 is meant to replace the B-1B and B-2 and support ISR and command-and-strike missions.

The move could boost U.S. long-range strike and penetration capabilities against advanced air defenses, including amid China’s H-20 buildup.
