Why Broadcom is betting on a private cloud comeback

Broadcom is recasting VMware Cloud Foundation as an open, Kubernetes-centered private cloud platform.

At KubeCon Europe 2026, the company said enterprises are moving workloads back on-premises for data sovereignty and AI concerns.

VCF is being aligned with platform engineering and declarative infrastructure to support modern app delivery on private cloud.

Broadcom also highlighted its use of CNCF and open source projects such as Velero, Contour, and Harbor.
