ASUS Demos Modded HUDIMM DDR5 Memory for Affordable PC Builds, Converting 24GB to 12GB and 16GB to 8GB with “One Sub-Channel”

ASUS demonstrated prototype HUDIMM DDR5 support on the ROG Z890 APEX motherboard.

Using a Teamgroup module and a modded setup, UDIMMs were limited to one sub-channel to cut usable capacity in half.

That could reduce costs by turning 24 GB into 12 GB or 16 GB into 8 GB for budget PC builds.

HUDIMM may serve as a temporary lower-cost DDR5 workaround until memory prices come down.
