China's BYD begins sales of flagship electric SUV with 590-mile range and 3.9-second sprint

BYD opened pre-sales for the flagship Great Tang EV at the Beijing Auto Show.

The full-size SUV uses second-generation Blade battery tech and a 1000V architecture, with up to 590 miles of range and 3.9-second acceleration.

It also offers multiple powertrain variants and premium chassis features, including DiSus-A air suspension.

The launch targets China’s increasingly competitive large-SUV EV market, with market entry expected in the first half of the year.
