US Army’s Black Hawk helicopter launches and controls multiple combat drones in test

The U.S. Army demonstrated an H-60M Black Hawk’s ability to launch and control air-launched effects during Project Convergence Capstone 6 in California’s Mojave Desert.

The test built on earlier trials at A.P. Hill in Virginia and showed the helicopter launching multiple effects from a networked battlefield environment.

The capability could let Army helicopters operate farther from enemy defenses while improving lethality, coordination, and survivability.

The effort supports the Army’s Long-Range Precision Munition program.
