Meta Is Sued Over Scam Ads on Facebook and Instagram

Consumer Federation of America sued Meta in Washington, D.C., alleging scam ads on Facebook and Instagram violated consumer protection laws.

The complaint says Meta allowed and profited from fraudulent ads, including fake stimulus checks and free iPhones.

Meta denied the allegations, saying it removes large volumes of scam content from its platforms.
