Google Search is getting its biggest changes ever

Google announced a major AI overhaul of Search at Google I/O 2026, tying AI Overviews and AI Mode more closely together.

The redesigned Search adds Gemini-powered autocomplete, document-based queries, and a more conversational experience.

Google is also starting to roll out AI agents that can monitor topics, book services, call businesses, and create apps inside Search.
