NVIDIA's AI CPU "Vera" delivers powerful performance that outperforms AMD EPYC and Intel Xeon

Phoronix ran public benchmarks on NVIDIA’s AI/HPC CPU Vera at NVIDIA HQ and found it can match or beat leading server chips in some workloads.

In tasks like code compilation and Linux kernel builds, Vera performed close to or better than CPUs such as AMD EPYC 9575F and Intel Xeon.

Vera uses 88 custom Olympus cores, up to 1.2 TB/s of bandwidth, and supports PCIe Gen 6 and CXL 3.1.

The results suggest NVIDIA may be gaining stronger competitiveness in the data center CPU market for AI and HPC systems.
