Huawei said it has brought digital connectivity to 170 million people in remote areas across more than 80 countries, beating its 2022 ITU Partner2Connect pledge.

The announcement came at Huawei’s TECH Cares Forum in Barcelona, which centered on digital inclusion in the AI era and closing the digital divide.

Huawei and partners discussed rural network expansion, telecom infrastructure, and digital skills programs as key enablers of broader inclusion.

Officials and industry leaders, including ITU and MTN representatives, highlighted partnerships as essential to sustainable digital development.
