Google details Wear OS widgets that replace Tiles, shows off first apps with support

Google is replacing Wear OS Tiles with new Wear Widgets, introducing two sizes and a design that matches Android widgets.

Apps including Spotify, WhatsApp, Peloton, and Todoist are already moving toward support.

The change is expected to work across Pixel Watch and Samsung Galaxy Watch devices, including Wear OS 7.

Google says the widget-based approach could simplify development and help deliver more consistent watch experiences.
