7 days before the election, deepfake reports top 10,000…government mounts all-out response

With local elections a week away, requests to remove deepfake-related campaign violation posts have topped 10,000.

The Interior Ministry said takedown requests reached 10,319, while police action against false information cases rose to 921 people.

The government held an interagency working meeting to step up detection, deletion, complaints, and investigations.

Agencies including the National Election Commission and the broadcasting regulator will tighten coordination to protect election fairness.
