Iranian hackers are conducting offensive cyber operations targeting the US and Israel.

Thousands in Israel received texts during missile sirens that impersonated the military and urged downloading a fake shelter app.

A mass message included threats referencing Netanyahu and imminent Iranian missile attacks.

The campaign is part of a wider cyber conflict between Iran, Israel and the US, and Iran has invested heavily to breach American and Israeli defenses.

Iran’s cyber forces operate in three overlapping tiers: IRGC and Ministry-run units using front organizations; semi-autonomous proxies, cybercriminals and contractors; and volunteer hacktivists.
