Finnish startup Donut Lab says it has developed a solid-state battery with unusually high energy density, very fast charging, and long life.

The company points to independent testing by Finland’s VTT, but key details such as chemistry and cycle-life performance have not been fully proven.

If validated, the technology could boost EV range, charging speed, safety, and packaging efficiency.

For now, experts remain skeptical and say the claims are still well short of commercial validation.
