‘Gmail Live’ is a new way to search emails as AI Inbox comes to AI Plus, AI Pro

Google unveiled Gmail Live at I/O 2026, a full-screen voice-based search experience for Gmail.

It also expanded AI Inbox from AI Ultra to AI Plus and AI Pro subscribers.

AI Inbox can group messages into tasks and catch-up topics, mark items done or read, and dismiss suggestions.

The tool also adds shortcuts to Docs, Sheets, and Slides plus contextual draft replies, making Gmail more conversational and action-oriented.
