Pamplona will debut four AI-powered speed cameras: they detect if you're wearing a seatbelt, using your phone, or making illegal turns

Pamplona is preparing to deploy four AI-powered traffic radars in June.

The cameras will detect speeding plus offenses like phone use, no seat belt, wrong-way driving, illegal turns, lane changes, red-light violations and unsafe stops.

The devices also read license plates and will rotate across several city locations, including AP-68, Avenida del Ejército, Avenida de Gipuzkoa, Puente de Oblatas and Calle Sadar.

Before activation, the system must be approved by Spain’s metrology authority.

If effective, the project could become a model for wider use of automated traffic enforcement in Spain.
