Yawning Is So Contagious You Can Catch It Before You're Born, Study Suggests

A University of Parma study suggests fetal yawning can be triggered by a mother’s yawn before birth.

Researchers observed 38 women in late pregnancy with ultrasound while they watched yawning and control videos.

Fetuses yawned more often after maternal yawns, but not in the non-yawn conditions.

The findings hint that contagious yawning and social motor synchronization may emerge before birth.
