Cisco acquires Astrix Security to secure AI agents

Cisco will acquire Astrix Security to strengthen protection for AI agents and other machine identities.

Astrix’s non-human identity capabilities will be integrated into Cisco’s identity and access products, including Cisco Identity Intelligence, Secure Access, and Duo.

The goal is to better discover, authenticate, and monitor AI agents while protecting credentials like API keys, service accounts, OAuth tokens, and secrets.

The move reflects growing security risks as non-human identities gain wider access to corporate systems.
