Text2Score: Generating Sheet Music From Textual Prompts

Researchers introduced Text2Score, a two-stage system that converts natural-language prompts into structured musical plans and then generates interleaved ABC notation for sheet music.

The framework uses supervision derived from symbolic XML data, reducing reliance on noisy text-music pairs while extending text-driven generation from MIDI to sheet music.

The paper also presents a new evaluation suite, validated by musicians, to assess the quality of generated scores.

By open-sourcing data and evaluation tools, the work could help accelerate future research in text-to-music and symbolic music generation.
