Apple acquired another company that could help build out its Creator Studio subscription

Apple disclosed it acquired Patchflyer GmbH in January, the maker of the Color.io color-grading tool.

Color.io could be folded into future Creator Studio offerings, expanding Apple’s pro creative software lineup.

The deal follows Apple’s purchase of MotionVFX and supports its push to grow subscriptions.

The move could make Creator Studio more competitive with Adobe Creative Cloud.
