AMD rumored to be preparing budget-friendly Ryzen 7 7700X3D for struggling gamers — chipmaker lowers clocks and price with new Zen 4 X3D CPU

AMD is rumored to be working on a Ryzen 7 7700X3D gaming CPU.

The chip is said to keep the 8-core, 16-thread Zen 4 design and 96MB of 3D V-Cache seen in the 7800X3D.

Unlike the 7800X3D, it would reportedly use lower base and boost clocks to hit a lower price.

Pricing, launch timing, and whether it will be retail or OEM-only are still unconfirmed.
