Shanghai Snow Cream Is Bankrupt - 36Kr

Shanghai Meilan Cosmetics has been ruled bankrupt by a Pudong New Area court.

Its flagship brand, Shanghai Snow Cream, left only about 95,000 yuan in bankruptcy assets against roughly 19.41 million yuan in confirmed debt.

The company was hit by COVID, a slowdown in tourism-gift channels, and worsening operations after being acquired by Shenzhen Dingtong.

The case underscores how legacy domestic consumer brands that rely on nostalgia, offline channels, and old manufacturing models are struggling to survive.
