Mojo, a Python-like new language that speeds up AI, reaches beta

Modular has released beta 1 of Mojo, a Python-like compiled language built for faster AI execution.

The beta adds safe closures, conditional trait conformance, and variadic improvements, with 1.0 planned for later in 2026.

Modular says Mojo will stay tightly interoperable with Python while optimizing for CPUs, GPUs, and ASICs.

The company also plans to expand Mojo into memory-safe systems programming and broader object-oriented support.
