France’s lead-cooled fast reactor demonstrator plant completes vessel installation

Newcleo has installed the main vessel for PRECURSOR, its non-nuclear lead-cooled fast reactor test system, in France.

The company says the demonstrator remains on schedule and is expected to be completed later this year.

PRECURSOR is part of Newcleo’s Gen-IV reactor program, designed to improve safety and support low-carbon power generation.

The technology could also help produce medical isotopes, expanding its potential impact beyond electricity.
