Google DeepMind Introduces an AI-Enabled Mouse Pointer Powered by Gemini That Captures Visual and Semantic Context Around the Cursor

Google DeepMind unveiled an experimental Gemini-powered mouse pointer that uses cursor and hover context to act on on-screen content.

Live demos showed the pointer helping with image editing, map search, and other tasks by understanding what users point at.

A Chrome rollout called Magic Pointer is planned, along with integration for Googlebook laptops.

The idea is to reduce prompt writing and app switching by bringing AI assistance directly into the workflow.
