Google Messages read receipts redesign continues with old icons, swipe for time

Google Messages is testing another read receipts redesign after rolling back a previous overhaul.

The new beta keeps the older two-circle status icons for read receipts.

Timestamp and encryption lock details are now hidden behind a left swipe, while replies appear with a right swipe.

The change is only showing up in limited beta testing, not a wider rollout.
