GitHub Copilot moves to usage-based billing for all plans

GitHub says Copilot will move to usage-based billing on June 1, 2026 for all plans.

Each plan will include monthly GitHub AI Credits, with overages available for purchase.

Existing base pricing stays the same, but premium request units and fallback model access will end.

Code completions and Next Edit suggestions remain credit-free, while code review will consume GitHub Actions minutes.

A preview billing view will arrive in early May to help users track spend.
