Google quietly launched an AI dictation app that works offline

Google released an offline-first iOS dictation app called Google AI Edge Eloquent; the app is free to download.

Users can download Gemma-based ASR models to enable local dictation; dictation starts once those models are downloaded.

The app shows live transcription and, when paused, filters filler words like “um” and “ah” and polishes the text.

Text transformation options include “Key points,” “Formal,” “Short,” and “Long”; the app can import keywords, names, and jargon from Gmail and users can add custom words.

Cloud mode is optional—turning it off enables local-only processing; when on, the app uses Gemini models for cloud-based text cleanup, displays transcription history and allows search, and shows session metrics; the App Store description references an Android version and integration.
