Instagram tightens exposure standards for teen accounts, applying a 'suitable for ages 13+' level

Instagram will tighten teen account protections across the Asia-Pacific, including Korea, by applying content limits aligned with a US PG-13 standard.

Meta will also block access to inappropriate accounts and introduce parental controls for teens later this year.

The move is meant to reduce harmful exposure and strengthen platform safety for younger users.

Meta may expand the same teen-safety measures to other services in the future.
