After becoming cloud computing’s telemetry standard, OpenTelemetry graduates into the AI infrastructure era

CNCF has graduated OpenTelemetry to its highest maturity level after years of rapid adoption.

Born from OpenTracing and OpenCensus, it has become the vendor-neutral standard for collecting and exporting telemetry data.

Major cloud and observability vendors now support it, including Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, Datadog, Grafana Labs, Splunk, and New Relic.

The milestone signals long-term stability for a framework that reduces vendor lock-in and is increasingly central to cloud and AI observability.
