Apple files for Supreme Court stay in Epic case over off-App Store commission dispute

Apple has asked the Supreme Court to pause the next phase of its Epic Games dispute while it appeals a contempt ruling.

The company argues the lower court should not yet decide what commission it can charge on purchases made outside the App Store.

Apple also says the 2021 injunction should not be applied beyond Epic and that moving forward now would cause irreparable harm.

The case could shape App Store fees for off-platform purchases and whether the injunction affects all U.S. developers.
