OpenAI said each Stargate campus will have a community plan shaped by local input.

The company said the projects will fund their own power needs, including generation, storage, transmission, and grid upgrades.

OpenAI said this approach is meant to keep new AI infrastructure from raising electricity costs for other customers.

It pointed to partnerships in Wisconsin and Michigan as examples of utility coordination and customer protection.
