China’s 10 MW truck-mounted nuclear ‘power bank’ claims energy for decades without recharge

Chinese researchers say they have built and are testing an integrated simulation prototype of a truck-mounted 10-megawatt nuclear power unit.

The vehicle-mounted reactor is designed to run for decades without recharging, making it a potential long-life power source.

The team is studying commercial and industrial applications, including AI data centers, remote sites, emergency backup, maritime propulsion and space systems.

The project is still in the testing phase, with safety and performance under evaluation.
